State of the art facilites

Elders Wool is the largest single investment in the Australian wool supply chain this century. The business is based around two key hubs, in Melbourne and Perth, which are supported by an extensive network of wool receival centres.

Cutting-edge innovations

In a world-first for the wool industry, bales at the Melbourne centre are moved using Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs), aiming to deliver operational efficiencies and reduce safety risks.

Elders Wool is complemented by Elders’ own modern and secure software system, enhancing the customer experience and traceability throughout the supply chain.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a key objective at Elders.

Elders Wool aims to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions from the Melbourne and Perth centres through the use of solar power, renewable energy, LED lighting and energy efficient equipment.

This investment in wool handling is the biggest single investment in Australian wool this century, aiming to secure the future of the industry.

Professional marketing capabilities

Both centres have state-of-the-art showfloor facilities, providing a high quality experience for buyers and allowing growers and buyers to connect seamlessly.

The centres are strategically located on the doorsteps of the ports of Melbourne and Fremantle. This enables a quick and seamless transport route for buyers to deliver their wool for export to both domestic and overseas destinations.

An end to end service

Elders Wool enables an end-to-end service for wool growers across Australia.

From the farm gate

Our wool offering starts well before shearing. Unlock ram selection and genetic advice through our unrivalled network of stud stock specialists.

Throughout the production cycle, our wool agents will work alongside you to optimise your clip and identify marketing opportunities.

After shearing, wool is delivered from the farm to a conveniently located receival centre across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland or Western Australia.

To the final destination

From there, wool is transferred to an Elders Wool centre in either Melbourne or Perth. Here, bales are cored, and clips are sent off for testing, and displayed in start-of-the-art showfloor facilities.

At the Melbourne centre, bales are moved using autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) – a world-first for the wool industry.

The strategically located Elders Wool centres create a link between growers, buyers and port access, allowing for professional marketing to overseas or domestic destinations.
